A nature walk in our very own backyard brought about many happy discoveries that spring is truly here.
After our search for spring we busied ourselves clearing out the old. The littlest one earned her very first gardening badge of honor - a scraped knee. Like a true garden baby she soldiered on and we were able to clear all of the raised beds and ready them for planting.
- Now that the weather is warmer, I'll start taking the seedlings outside for short periods of time to toughen them up for planting.
- Our shed building adventure has left us a dirt pile, so we plan to mix this with compost and use it to fill up our raised beds.
- The forecast calls for rain the next few days but as soon as the skies clear, it may be time to plant cool weather crops such as lettuce and beans.
